Mastering MikroTik Router Configuration Tips And Tricks
Today we will walk you through the basic configuration steps for your Mikrotik router using the Winbox interface. With its user-friendly interface, Winbox allows enterprise networks and individuals alike to easily configure and manage their network infrastructure.

Step 1: Connect to Your Router
The first step in configuring your Mikrotik router is connecting to it using the Winbox interface. To do this, open the Winbox application and click on the “Neighbors” tab. Here you will see a list of all of the Mikrotik devices on your network. Click on the one you want to configure and click “Connect”.
Step 2: Set Up Your Internet Connection
Once you are connected to your Mikrotik router, the next step is to configure your internet connection. To do this, click on the “IP” tab on the left-hand side of the page, then click on “DHCP Client”. Here you will add your internet provider’s DNS address in the “DNS servers” section, and click “Apply”.
Step 3: Create a New Bridge

Step 5: Configure Your Firewall Rules
The next step is to configure your firewall rules, which will determine what traffic is allowed in and out of your network. To do this, click on the “IP” tab on the left-hand side of the page, then click on “Firewall”. Here you will create a new firewall rule, setting the action, protocol, and source/destination IP addresses. Once completed, click “Apply”.
Step 6: Configure Your DHCP Server
The final step in configuring your Mikrotik router is to set up your DHCP server. This will allow your devices to automatically receive network settings when they connect to your network. To do this, click on the “IP” tab on the left-hand side of the page, then click on “DHCP Server”. Here you will enable the DHCP server and configure the IP address range, DNS servers, and other network settings.
