MikroTik RouterOS Dynamic Routing Exploring OSPF And BGP

Wow, have you ever heard of Mikrotik Routing? It's like the secret code to unlocking the internet!

But seriously, let's talk about OSPF Routing Area Backbone and the lab we did to learn about it.

Mikrotik Routing

So basically, OSPF stands for Open Shortest Path First and it's a routing protocol used by routers to communicate with each other and share information about the network.

In our lab, we learned how to configure OSPF routing in a Mikrotik router to create an Area Backbone. Here are some key points:

  • We started by setting up the router and creating a basic network with several devices connected to it.
  • Then we configured OSPF and created an Area Backbone by designating one of the routers as the Area Border Router (ABR).
  • The ABR was responsible for connecting our OSPF network to an external network, which in our case was the internet.
  • We also learned about OSPF metrics, which are used to determine the best path for routing data between routers. The lower the metric, the better the path.
  • We used the Mikrotik OSPF Routing Table to view the paths and metrics between routers, and made some adjustments to optimize the routing.
  • Finally, we tested the network by sending data between devices and verifying that it was being routed correctly.

Overall, it was a really cool lab and we learned a lot about Mikrotik Routing and OSPF Routing Area Backbone. I feel like a secret internet hacker now!

If you're interested in learning more about networking and routing protocols, I highly recommend checking out Mikrotik and OSPF. It may seem intimidating at first, but once you understand the basics it's really fascinating stuff.
